For too long we’ve relied on the motor fuels tax as the core of our transportation funding...an idea conceived when Model T’s traveled North Carolina’s roads. We're not keeping pace with changing times. Our state needs equitable and sustainable revenue sources based on modern vehicles’ use of our roads, as well as the increasing costs of building and maintaining a robust transportation system for a robust state.
Make plans to join us for our annual dinner in Raleigh to discuss what's ahead for North Carolina. Sen. Vickie Sawyer will talk about the 2025 legislative session and what's ahead. Meredith College political scientist David McLennan, Ph.D. will provide insight and analysis on the outcome of the November elections. And, John Drake, Infrastructure lead for the US Chamber of Commerce, will update on transportation from the federal perspective.
