North Carolina Transportation: A Chronology of Invention and Technology

 

North Carolina has a long and colorful history when viewed through the lens of transportation. From the first wagon roads through the Piedmont, steam boats navigating the Neuse River and the Wright Brothers first flight at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina is intertwined with - and has often guided - the progress of transportation.
